The idea for this painting came from a quote by Norman Soloman - "While pick-and-choose secrecy is serving Washington's top war-makers, the treatment of US citizens is akin to the classic description of how tp propagate mushrooms - 'keep them in the dark & feed them bullshit' (the same can be said of the UK)

I heard NS speak at a public meeting at Birkbeck Institute For Social Research, University of London.  This unique meeting -'Journalism, whisleblowers & theSecurity State' also included talks by Whistleblowers, previous employees of the FBI, GCHQ, US National Security Agency (NSA) & an Ex-High ranking US Embassy official in Iraq & Afghanistan.

'There is going to be a General Election on 7th May 2015. This painting depicts the logos of the five main parties in the UK.-

ON TOP - The Green Party; ON LEFT- The Conservative Party (Right Wing); ON RIGHT - The Labour Party (Left Wing); At the bottom

- THE laiberal Democratic Party (Centre Left Party); And in the centre, the Uanited Kingdom Idependence Party (UKIP) - A Far right party.

The colours of the logos for the Conservatives, Labour, & Lib dems, are normally Blue/Green, Red, & Yellow respectivley.

I have painted them all Blue, as the thesw parties have all shifted many of their policies to thr right, partly diue to the rapid rise in the popularity & successes of UKIP.  i have painted the UKIP logo colours (purple & yellow) migrating into the conservative, Labour & Lb Dems logos, as many of their votes are coming from disillusioned supporters ofthese parties.
